Hi all! I have an integration that mirrors updates between mirrored item, and when an update is created, the update’s creator will always be the integration’s installer. Is there a way to change update creator via monday’s API? thank you!

Hi, New to monday I ahve just set up an account for our company. We have created a standard board template that will be used and shared via dashboards with managers. We have a client dropdown field in the table that we have manually populated with the current list of clients. As new clients arrive we would like to add them to the list and for them to become available to all the users using the company template. Is it possible to add an option to a dropdown list in the way. Ideally we would keep the list outside monday and call the content via API if that makes sense ? So as we add the clients to the external list they would update and be available in the dropdown list in monday

Hi, Just want to report what seems like a bug, and ask you to resolve it quick. I’m trying to update the people column, and getting errors. I even tried using the api graph playground, with the mutation command copied directly from the documentation, and this is what I got (Other column updates worked fine thru the api playground): mutation { change_multiple_column_values(item_id:1889308806, board_id:1889308796, column_values: “{"people" : {"personsAndTeams":[{"id":2292943,"kind":"person"}]}}”) { id } } SyntaxError: Unexpected token < in JSON at position 0

The query below results in the query complexity budget being exhausted, especially if users are not being limited: me { id, name, teams { id, name, users(limit: 100) { id } } } complexity { before, after, query, reset_in_x_seconds } However the query cost for the query below is only about 1000. teams { id, name, users { id } } complexity { before, after, query, reset_in_x_seconds } Am I misunderstanding about the usage of the first query or is this a bug?

We want to collapse a column (e.g. hide) via the API. Does the API support this feature? Thanks.

I’ve been looking at the column types and syntax to get the different values from the columns. But sometimes it seems that the data/structure shown via the api playground is different than when I use my nodejs debugger. for example, the status (“color”) column. The API playground lists the info like this: { “title”: “Status”, “type”: “color”, “id”: “status”, “value”: “{"index":0,"post_id":null,"changed_at":"2021-08-09T07:23:10.900Z"}”, “text”: “Working on it”, “additional_info”: “{"label":"Working on it","color":"#fdab3d","changed_at":"2021-08-09T07:23:10.900Z"}” }, my debugger shows the following in the value field: value: { label: { index: 0, text: “Working on it”, style: { color: “#fdab3d”, border: “#E99729”, var_name: “orange”, }, }, post_id: null, } note that via the api playground, it looks like I can get the index from value by doing value.index, and to get the label text, I need to use text or additional_info.label (not available in value) but according to my debugger, I get

Hi dear Community! I’m very new to monday.com. I want to develop some boards in the future, but I’m stuck at the beginning. I saw that for an own App, I have to “run the command scaffold in your command line” After some searches, I found this forum topic. So, for the command to be done, I have to have NodeJS and/or NPM on my Windows? What else do I need for monday.com before start developing? Sorry for my english. Thank you for any help! Chris

Hello, everyone, I was playing around with the activity_logs request in the API, but for some reason, it appears to return activity logs from today. I tried to set the “from” and “to” parameters to contain a wider time range, but it never returns logs else than today. Does anybody else have the same issue and/or know how it could be fixed? I was attempting to build a simple dashboard widget that would tell me which days I’ve been active, but as no activity logs from previous are shown through the API (it does show them when looking manually on the board’s activity log), I really don’t know how to retrieve that info. Is it possible to delete a board column through the api? We can create a column through mutation { create_column } but I have not been able to find a way to delete a column

Hello, I’m trying to use the API to create new item to an existing board. I used the create_item function found in the documentation, but unfortunately, my item was created but without the columns I provided. Here’s my query mutation ($board: Int!, $col:JSON, $group: String) { create_item (board_id: $board, group_id: $group, item_name: "incieeedent test", column_values: $col) { id } } And here how I passed my columns: { ... "col": "{\\"Action\\": \\"foo\\"}", ... } If I try to remove the " then I have a 500 error status. Any tips on how to send columns values? Thanks!

Hi everyone, I’ve been using monday.com for a year or so and would now like to learn how to add new features by writing apps. I’m a total coding novice beyond some Excel VBA. So I’m trying to follow the Quickstart Guide for integration recipes. I’m stuck at this step: “…run the command scaffold in your command line, and paste the resulting URL into the URL box.” This is what I’m doing: Copying the command Pasting into node.js and hitting Enter Resulting in ‘Uncaught SyntaxError’. I’m sure it’s something super basic I’m doing wrong, please can someone give me a pointer?

Hello, I currently work on the OAuth handling that is triggered when an app is installed. I am using the URL https://auth.monday.com/oauth2/authorize with the client_id of my app and the redirect_uri that should be called after the user has authorized the app. The redirection will then indeed called and I can also request a token with the provided code successfully. However I don’t know how to proceed. The app is not installed after this handling. So I guess I have to call a backToUrl (to monday.com) to finish it. Does anybody know what is the correct handling here? Thanks a lot, Marcus

Is there a way to control “fail” messaging displayed to the user when using Remote Options URL with custom fields. It seems the only options are to return nothing (which displays small white dot to user" or fail with return code = 4xx or 5xx which then displays “Failed to load options”

I am able to view a file on a pulse from an app I created within Monday and from the same app served from AWS but not able to view the file from the web app on my phone. I’m getting the file url by getting column_values.text but am noticing that in the api docs it mentions a public_url. Is this different than the text value from the column and is this possibly the problem I’m having?
