Here’s what’s new in the monday Apps Framework and API from the past month Apps Framework: Marketplace Shield Badge: We added a Shield Badge which is awarded to apps that meet specific data protection requirements. Marketplace app rating update: Average app rating score will be calculated using the app’s lifetime ratings, not only ratings within the past year. New webhook field: app_name New CLI command: Remove an account’s storage data for specific account New ability to search storage: You can now search for stored records in our SDK and CLI tools API: New Assign & Remove team owners Fix: Column validation for apps New update_email_domain mutation Improved: Rate limits New timeline object: you can now query emails & activities of specific item New activcate_users mutation Stay tuned for 2025 new updates and features!

We have made a handful of improvements to our rate limits to help maintain a high-quality API and support optimal performance. Some of these updates include: Standardized error codes: Rate limit errors will now return a 429 HTTP error code to help standardize responses and simplify error handling. Retry-After header: Errors will now include the Retry-After header to indicate how long you need to wait before making another request. New rate limits: We’ve introduced new limits, including per-minute request limits and a concurrency limit. These changes help reduce the frequency of complexity limits, giving you more control over your API usage and providing a smoother developer experience. Daily limits: Daily request limits will be enforced for basic and standard accounts starting next week. Limits for pro and enterprise accounts will be gradually rolled out next year. Here’s what’s new in the monday.com Apps framework and API from the past to week Apps Increased number of plans for marketplace apps: Now you can have up to 25 seat-based tiers and up to 15 feature-based tiers for your app on the marketplace! New app feature image uploader: Instead of using a Vibe icon or providing your own CDN URL, you can now upload an image directly to monday’s CDN, and it’s available for all app feature types that support custom icons. API Hotfix: Updates returned in reverse chronological order: Impacted API versions 2024-10 and later New ability to read the formula column: you can read the formula column using the display_value field. This field returns the content of the formula column as a string, from version 2025-01 and later. New deactivate_users mutation New update_users_role mutation

Adding a custom icon to your app feature is now easier than ever before with the new image uploader! Instead of only using a Vibe icon or providing your own CDN URL, you can now upload an image directly to monday’s CDN. This automatically generates a CDN URL that can be served everywhere. The new uploader is available for all app feature types that support custom icons. Follow these steps to use the new image uploader: Click the Upload your own button. Select your image and crop it. Click Upload. This uploads the image and generates a CDN URL hosted on monday’s CDN. Click Save to save the URL.

Earlier today, some developer accounts were unable to access the monday API. If you are an app developer, you may have seen errors when testing your app in your developer account. When we received reports about this issue, our dev team identified the issue and pushed a fix within a few hours. The issue was resolved around 1pm GMT. Only a very small portion of developer accounts were affected (less than 25). No customer accounts were affected. In the interest of transparency, we’re sharing this update – despite it having a relatively small scope. If you’re still having issues, please open a technical support request here.

Dipro here - after a few weeks of investigating, I’d like to share with you some updates and final decisions we have made regarding app pricing based on user count. For background: some apps are priced based on the total users on your account. In the app checkout process, monday.com will recommend an app plan size based on the account size. On May 10th, we started making this recommendation based on the number of active users in your account, rather than the total size of your monday plan. This decision was made in response to the counting of non-billable users such as guests and viewers. We announced this change in our developer changelog. After this change, we received feedback from our partners & customers that this was counterintuitive and buggy. Furthermore, some customers with multiple product subscriptions were prompted to upgrade in error. This week, we rolled back the change – our system will now recommend app plans based on an account’s monday.com plan size. For customers with products, we will recommend a plan equal to the number of seats on their largest product. Following this rollback, a small number of customers may need to upgrade their app subscriptions, if they subscribed for an affected app between May 10th and June 17th 2024. We will individually communicate with affected developers today. Ultimately, the change impacted only a very small number of customers, however given the response and impact this change had on our partners, we want to mark this as an opportunity where we have learned and will continue to do better in our communication and transparency. We understand the value and impact changes can make on our developer ecosystem and continue to strive for quality.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 🥁 We are announcing the marketplace revenue sharing program! The revenue sharing program, scheduled to launch on September 1st, 2024, is structured to support our partners’ growth and incentivize the development of high-quality apps. How will it work? Once an app reaches the milestone of $200,000 in lifetime accumulated revenue*, the revenue sharing model is activated. For every subsequent month, 85% of the revenue generated by the app will go to the developer and 15% of the revenue will be collected by monday.com For instance, if an app makes $10,000 in a month post the milestone, the app builders will keep $8,500, and monday.com will collect $1,500. This model has been carefully crafted to ensure that our developers are supported as they scale, and to reflect our shared success. This will ensure our overall growth that will continue to amplify the reach of your apps and help you thrive.
