Hi everyone — I built a deliberately narrow, self-service Beta for teams that already manage orders, BOM lines, and component stock in monday.com.
BOM & Kits answers one question:
Do we have enough components for the orders we have chosen to include?
The complete flow is:
Install → select 3 boards → map fields → validate → calculate → shortage snapshot
It supports a single-level BOM only. It does not try to replace an ERP, MRP, purchasing system, warehouse system, or production scheduler.
The Beta includes:
• a 30-second built-in demo;
• explicit board and column mapping;
• validation for missing components, invalid quantities, duplicate BOM relations, and products without BOMs;
• Required / Available / Shortage results;
• optional creation of protected Purchase Requirement items;
• account-level calculation history and duplicate-batch protection.
I am specifically testing whether the app can be discovered, installed, configured, and used without onboarding calls or manual data work.
Good fit:
• your orders and component inventory already live in monday boards;
• your products or kits use a single-level BOM;
• you need to recalculate material demand repeatedly.
Not a fit for this Beta:
• multi-level manufacturing BOMs;
• suppliers, purchase orders, forecasting, scheduling, or warehouse control;
• teams looking for an ERP replacement.
This is a public pre-Marketplace Beta and has not been reviewed by monday.com. monday will display its normal unreviewed-app warning. The app requests only Board read/write access; the demo writes nothing, and a real calculation remains read-only unless you explicitly create Requirement items.
