We recently released subitem support in dynamic mapping blocks for custom action blocks in your integration recipes.
What is dynamic mapping?
For those who are not as familiar with our custom integration framework, dynamic mapping gives you the ability to map values coming from other platforms dynamically into your items’ column values. It also allows you to push values from monday.com to external platforms dynamically.
Here is what dynamic mapping looks like within an integration recipe, I’m sure this screen will look familiar to many:

What does this mean?
Now we will support subitems in custom action blocks that use dynamic mapping. There are a few limitations to keep in mind:
- This capability has been released for our backend only. This means that subitems are supported for custom dynamic mapping and action blocks. At this time, our built-in action blocks that use dynamic mapping will not support subitems!
- The trigger must also be within the subitem board in order to trigger this dynamic mapping support.
We know that there is still much more that needs to be done for full support of subitems in dynamic mapping. As such, we welcome all of your feedback and thoughts!
