We've just released a new feature: Multi-level boards, which allows for a much deeper hierarchy in boards by supporting up to five layers of subitems.

To help you adapt your apps and integrations, we've published a new API guide that covers all the necessary changes.

Key changes for developers to be aware of include:

  • Deeper Hierarchy: Boards can now have up to five levels of subitems(!)

  • Rollup Columns: This new column type can summarize data from child items.

  • New Board Type: Multi-level boards are a new type, separate from classic boards.

  • Simplified Subitem Access: In multi-level boards, all subitems are now accessible.

  • Availability timeline (estimated, might be changed):
    - August 25: Multi-level boards available for developer acounts
    - October 1: Multi-level boards boards API goes GA
    - January 1 (2026): Release multi-level boards in 2026-04 (Release Candidate) as an opt-out

Check out the full documentation for a comprehensive breakdown of the API changes, best practices, and code examples to ensure your apps are ready for multi-level boards.

@OmerK I'm confused about the timeline and I also don't understand what does it mean as an opt-out. Can you please clarify both opt out and what the 2026-04 release candidate is? It’s an api release candidate or a monday release candidate? if it’s an api, you said that on October 1st, the multi-level boards API goes GA.

Hello, documentation states that multi-level boars are available only for Portfolio solution, which is available only on Enterprise plan. So, was availability for developer plan cancelled completely, or timeline was shifted from the August 25 which was mentioned in your post?
