We’re introducing App and App Feature slugs to make app identification clearer, and safer.

Instead of relying on numeric IDs, apps and features will now use human-readable, globally unique slugs that are easy to recognize and reference.

For new apps, slugs must follow a clear structure based on your account slug, and you can add slugs to existing apps in the General settings page.

Existing apps continue to work as-is, with full backward compatibility.

When updating features in the Developer Center, you’ll be prompted to set a feature slug.

Check the docs and get started in the Developer Center to explore how app and app feature slugs work.

will this lock things to account slugs then going forward, if the account slug changes the app slug changes too?

additionally, existing apps will continue to send the numeric ID even if we set a slug? but new apps will instead send the slug wherever we get the numeric ID now? (like platformAppId in JWTs)

Is there a way to reuse a deleted app’s slug?

Within the same account I realised I created an app using the wrong account and as such deleted it, however it seems that I’m now unable to reuse the app slug?
While I recognise the app slug maybe permanent, I did also expect that deleting the app would allow me to reuse it for a different one.

Is this perhaps a timing thing? i.e. it takes 24-48 hours for the lock on an app slug to be released after deletion.
