Hi,

I’m confused…

I was working on a new app instance - my app is an integration app, with recipe builder written in python.

I tested the app after installed (yesterday) and it worked.

But then, I needed to add scopes to my app, so made a draft version and changed scopes in that version.

Then, promoted that version to live.

From this point, I wasn’t able to Install the new version: the button appears on the “Install App” UI on developers center, but it doesn’t change it state, it immediately returns to its original state, which is “Install app” (the expected behavior is it change to “Uninstall app”).

I even removed all scopes in OAuth and the app is still not “installable”.

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot? Or have hints with potential issues?

See screenshot:

Thanks!

When you press the install button are there any errors in the browser console?

No, Logs view is empty

Hello there @eyalos,

Would you be able to please try creating a new draft version, then promoting in to live and then trying installing again?

If that does not work please fill this form adding as much information as possible to it and our team will take a look 😀

Hi,

It seems that from time to time (sporadicly), when un-install and then install an app makes that app “broken” = the install button doesn’t install the app, no matter how many times it’s being clicked, or even when promoting a new version to live.

How I’m supposed to troubleshooting installation issues?

The app is hosted in monday code.

The logs doesn’t help.

Hi @eyalos,

At this point, opening a support ticket via the link Matias shared above is the best way forward. Our team can take a look at your specific account and access more details which should give them a better idea of what’s going on 🙂

Best,

Rachel

@rachelatmonday thanks, opened a support ticket.

I’d really like if those kind of actions in developer center would be more transparent to the application developers - e.g. activity logs of an actions and errors happens.

Hi,

Wanted to share the issue was resolved, with the help of monday.com support.

For any developers starting to play with apps and install (like myself), my issue was that I shared the app with an installation link (=made the app public) with specific accounts, and wasn’t adding my development account as one of the “Listed monday account URL”.

After adding “myself” to the above list, the install succeeded.

Thank you @eyalos for sharing that!
