I build my app and then installed that in my account. Now, when I go to my dashboard and try to add the app, its not there at all. What could I be missing?

You may have created a view instead of a widget.

Could you post a screenshot of the features section of your app? I think @mitchell.hudson is right here - it might have been a view instead of a widget.

As @mitchell.hudson said… it was a view, and not a widget. I was following the documentation and that’s the thing I saw. Thanks folks!
