Anyone know how to update a date column with today’s date if any of the items sub items columns change? For all groups subitems/items.

Hi Jay,

Is the date column an item’s column or a sub-item column?

If it is a column of an item, create a formula in the sub-item board with this syntax:

{Parent.Date}=TODAY()

Then create the automation:
When sub-item column changes, Run the formula (you need to use an automation under the Templates tab).

Don’t hesitate to open a ticket in the in-app ticket center. It is faster and if you allow us to, we can have access to your formula and you board to make tests.

The date is an item column. The subitems board doesn’t show up for me often. Hit or miss. Next time I see it, I’ll give this a shot.

I will open a ticket. Access to my board sounds good. Access to my formulas might be embarrassing :o)

if I am making it in the subitem board can I target the subitems with “When any column changes” I don’t see “when any subitem column changes”

Yes, sorry I did not word it properly. You indeed need to select When column changes and you’ll get the sub-item’s columns at the bottom of the column dropdown. Ticket amswered with screenshots.

Access to my formulas might be embarrassing :o)
