Hi everyone,

I am opening this topic regarding the automation features migration (referenced here: https://developer.monday.com/apps/docs/automation-features-migration-overview).

We are currently attempting to migrate our app, General Caster, to the new infrastructure, but we have encountered a critical, blocking compatibility issue: the "message" field is entirely missing.

This field is strictly required for our users to write formulas using column references. Because the new infrastructure does not support this legacy feature, our migration is completely stalled.

There is absolutely no workaround or alternative available to replicate this functionality on our end. With the migration deadline on April 30th, we need an urgent fix or a clear path forward to avoid breaking functionality for General Caster users.

Could anyone suggest a fix for the missing "message" field or guidance on how to proceed?

Thank you for your swift assistance.

Try using the “String” field instead, to get the value of the column content.

You can’t get references to the column ID, and correctly parse that any more. The new infra is different.

I asked about the same thing and was basically told “no its not happening, work around it”. So thats my recommendation - if you can’t work around it then you’ll need to just accept the reality your app has no future at some point.

That said, currently the migration requirement is limited to the custom automation builder not the premade recipes. If you can get by with just premade recipes those will continue to be available from the legacy infra for some undetermined timeframe.
